Going on holiday and need someone to look after your bunny? Here you will find our directory of rabbit boarding services in the UK.
It is not possible for British Bunnies to check the quality of the services advertised so it is important that you inspect the boarding facilities you wish to use before leaving your bunny in someone else's care. Don't leave this until the last minute, you must make sure that you are 100% happy that your bunny will be cared for properly in a clean and secure environment.
To help you get started here are a few questions you might want to ask:
Most boarding facilities should insist that your bunny is currently vaccinated against VHD and Myxomatosis.
Transport your bunny to the boarding service in a secure carrier and take a written note of your vet's contact details and any specific care instructions.
For some people the preferred option is to leave their bunny in their own safe and familiar home and hire a pet sitter to come to the house and provide basic daily care. This can avoid the stresses of travel, change in routine or exposure to illnesses and might be the preferred option if your bunny is not vaccinated or is difficult to handle. Before leaving your rabbit in a stranger's care ask them for references and make sure they are knowledgeable about rabbit care.

Please please make sure that you have got your vaccinations up to date, and share this alert to make sure that other rabbit owners are aware also. There was a VHD outbreak in Newcastle very recently too - both myxi and VHD are out there and they need to be vaccinated. The combined vaccine lasts 12 months.

This is not confirmed by a lab as yet, but in the vets opinion is very likely to be the case. Please share, and make sure your bunnies vaccinations are up to date. VHD and Myxi is now a combined and annual vaccination.
